Without the car I probably would have had to turn down the role because I wouldn't have been able to work the hours required. It's a fantastic scheme. It's a great scheme and it's helped me a lot. I don't think I would have been able to keep the job without it – I mean, you can't be late every day! Once I was offered the job at Wilkinsons and found out about the early morning training requirement I asked Jobcentre Plus for advice, because I knew there were no buses or trains at that time of day. They told me about Green Light to Work which was an absolute Godsend, because without it I wouldn't have been able to take the job. I only found out about the scheme because I was late for an appointment with Jobcentre Plus. When they heard about my problems getting there they gave me an information leaflet for Green Light to Work and I called the number. They carried out a travel planning assessment and have loaned me a Chevrolet Matiz. It would have been very difficult without the car and I may not have been able to take the job - now I am trying to save up for my own car. It's a really good scheme.
